Saudi Foreign Minister discusses regional developments with 4 countries

As part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote stability in the region and coordinate positions on current issues, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today held a series of intensive telephone conversations with his counterparts in four key countries, including Spain, Turkey, Iraq and Jordan.

International coordination with Spain and Turkey

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs began his diplomatic outreach by receiving a telephone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain, José Manuel Álvarez. These discussions are of particular importance given Spain's growing role within the European Union in supporting Middle Eastern issues. The two sides discussed the rapidly evolving regional and international developments. This Saudi-Spanish coordination typically focuses on the need to find peaceful and sustainable solutions to crises, thereby ensuring international peace and security.

In a related development, Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a call from the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan. These Saudi-Turkish talks come at a sensitive time for the region, necessitating an exchange of views between the two major regional powers. The call addressed the latest developments in the region, where Riyadh and Ankara play vital roles in regional security matters, making their coordination a cornerstone of efforts to de-escalate tensions and contain conflicts.

Strengthening Arab solidarity with Iraq and Jordan

On the Arab front, the Saudi Foreign Minister continued his consultations by receiving a call from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Fuad Hussein. Discussions were not limited to regional affairs but also included a review of the strong bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries. The Kingdom attaches paramount importance to the stability and security of Iraq, considering it an integral part of Arab national security, and joint efforts are underway to strengthen cooperation frameworks and unify perspectives on shared challenges.

The diplomatic efforts also included a call with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi. Discussions focused on regional developments and joint efforts to achieve security and stability. Saudi-Jordanian relations are characterized by a convergence of views on numerous issues, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause and the protection of Arab security, making this ongoing communication a pressing necessity under the current circumstances.

The Kingdom's leading role

These successive contacts reflect the pivotal role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in steering the region's diplomacy. Through these efforts, Riyadh seeks to forge unified international and regional positions aimed at de-escalation, promoting dialogue, and sparing the region and its people the ravages of conflict, thereby reaffirming its position as a stabilizing force and an indispensable political power in the Middle East.
