The Emir of Hail launches the "White Fund" compassion campaign to support prisoners' families
In a move reflecting the deep social cohesion and commitment to sustainable charitable work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Region, inaugurated today the annual campaign of the National Committee for the Care of Prisoners, Released Prisoners, and Their Families (Tarahum) in the region, which launched this year under the slogan “The White Box.” The inauguration was attended by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Issa bin Abdullah Al-Halyan, and a number of committee members and officials from the region.
Details of the White Box campaign launch
The inauguration ceremony included a review of the committee's future plans, during which His Royal Highness the Prince of Hail received the 2025 "Tarham Endowment Fund" report, as well as the "Tarham Impact" report for the same year. These reports reflect the committee's strategic vision of shifting from direct care to empowerment and financial sustainability, ensuring the continued flow of support to beneficiaries. His Royal Highness praised the generous and unlimited support provided by the wise leadership – may God protect them – under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to the non-profit sector and to the families of prisoners, emphasizing that this support represents a fundamental pillar of societal stability.
The importance of the National Committee “Tarham” and its societal impact
The National Committee for the Care of Prisoners (Tarahum) holds paramount importance within the Saudi social fabric. Its role extends beyond providing financial assistance to encompass the care of prisoners' families, who may face economic and psychological challenges due to the absence of their breadwinner. Through initiatives such as the "White Box" campaign, the committee aims to support these families, provide them with a dignified life, and protect them from delinquency and poverty, thereby directly contributing to reducing crime rates and enhancing social security.
Strengthening community partnership and the values of solidarity
During the launch, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad emphasized the need for concerted efforts across all governmental, private, and non-profit sectors. He extended an invitation to business leaders, philanthropists, and all segments of society in the Hail region to engage with the campaign, drawing upon the principles of Islam, which encourages solidarity and compassion, and reflecting a sense of national responsibility. The “White Box” logo symbolizes transparency and purity in giving, as the endowment fund aims to establish stable financial resources to consistently meet the needs of beneficiary families.
A future vision for charitable work
For his part, the committee chairman, Issa Al-Halyan, expressed his deepest gratitude to His Royal Highness the Prince of the region for his generous patronage and close monitoring of the committee's work. He explained that the support this sector receives is perfectly aligned with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which seeks to increase the contribution of the non-profit sector to the GDP and promote a culture of volunteerism and humanitarian work. Al-Halyan noted that the interaction of the Hail community, across all its segments, with the "Tarham" initiatives embodies the finest examples of national unity, affirming the committee's determination to move forward in fulfilling the leadership's aspirations and serving beneficiaries with the highest efficiency.
