Wang endorsed Pakistan’s mediation efforts, deeming them “in line with the common interests of all parties,” according to a Chinese statement released after the meeting.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced that the two sides agreed on a five-point plan, beginning with an “immediate cessation of hostilities” and the “start of peace talks as soon as possible.”

The proposal also calls for a halt to attacks on civilians and non-military targets, such as energy infrastructure and desalination plants.
It demands guarantees for the security of shipping lanes, allowing for the “safe and prompt passage of civilian and commercial vessels” through the Strait of Hormuz.
Both countries affirmed that lasting peace must be based on the UN Charter and international law.
Concerns are growing about the potential consequences of war, including the near-total paralysis of maritime traffic through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
