Jeddah named best organizer for F1H2O powerboat races for 2025

Saudi Arabia has achieved a new global sporting milestone, with Jeddah being named the "Best New Organizer" in the history of Formula 1 Powerboat Racing (F1H2O). This accolade was bestowed during the annual closing ceremony of the 2025 F1H2O World Championship, hosted by Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, yesterday, following the conclusion of the Sharjah Grand Prix.
International recognition of Saudi regulatory standards
Representatives of Jeddah Season 2025 received a special award in recognition of the exceptional level of the event. The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) deemed Jeddah's performance to have set entirely new standards in organizing this prestigious championship. This event, the first of its kind to be held on the Red Sea coast, presented a unique character and a technical challenge that the national team successfully managed.
During the ceremony, Niccolò di San Germano, founder and international organizer of the World Powerboat Championship, praised the resounding success of Jeddah Season. He affirmed that the city successfully met the highest organizational and logistical standards for the championship, highlighting the exceptional accompanying events and luxurious hospitality programs that reinforced the strong positive impression left by the participating teams and international media delegations.
Jeddah: A global destination for marine sports
This achievement is not a coincidence, but rather reflects the tremendous development witnessed by the sports sector in Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030. Thanks to its strategic location on the Red Sea and its advanced infrastructure, Jeddah has become a hub for major international championships. Hosting the Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship is an extension of a series of successful events, such as the Formula 1 Saudi Grand Prix and international boxing matches, further solidifying the Kingdom's position as an influential soft power on the international sports map.
The importance of the event and its impact on tourism
The 2025 Jeddah Grand Prix (F1H2O) was a cornerstone of the Jeddah Season events, contributing to a comprehensive tourism and sports experience that combined excitement and entertainment. Such events play a vital role in boosting tourism and attracting visitors from around the world, thus enhancing economic returns and showcasing the cultural and civilizational diversity of Jeddah, a city that skillfully blends its rich heritage with the modernity of the future.
Successfully organizing a marine event of this magnitude requires highly precise technical and security arrangements to ensure the safety of the competitors and the smooth running of the race, and Jeddah has proven its excellence in this, thus leaving an indelible mark in the annals of global marine sports and confirming its readiness to host more major events in the near future.
