
Frankfurt announces two-season contract extension for Götze
German club Eintracht Frankfurt has announced the extension of the contract of their star first-team football player, Mario Götze, for two seasons.
The club explained in a statement on its website that Götze extended his contract, which was due to expire on June 30, 2026, to 2028.

The 2014 World Cup winner with the German national team has played 148 matches for Frankfurt since joining in the 2022-2023 season, during which he scored 12 goals and made 18 assists.

"Eintracht Frankfurt holds a special place in my heart," Götze said after renewing his contract. "I have spent almost four years here and have enjoyed my time so far.".
The 33-year-old added: “My family and I feel like we are at home in Frankfurt. At this stage of my career, many factors come into play. I know that every football career has an end, and that is what makes me appreciate every moment I spend on the pitch.”.
He concluded by saying: “My love for football and for this club is what convinced me to extend my contract. We have some challenges to overcome now, and we are ready to face them.”.
