The National Consumer Industries Exhibition kicks off at the Makkah Chamber to support Saudi products

The "National Consumer Industries Exhibition" opens tomorrow at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Exhibition and Events Center, a prominent economic event bringing together leading national companies and factories. The exhibition primarily aims to highlight the high quality achieved by Saudi industry and to promote and expand the reach of national products in Makkah's markets, which are known for their continuous commercial activity and high purchasing power throughout the year.
A vital window to support the national economy
In this context, Naif Al-Zaidi, a member of the board of directors of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and head of its industrial committee, emphasized the strategic importance of such events, stressing that specialized exhibitions represent a vital and important platform for national factories. They provide a golden opportunity to present products directly to the end consumer without intermediaries, thus enhancing confidence in locally made goods. Al-Zaidi noted that the Chamber supports all initiatives that highlight the quality of Saudi products and contribute directly to increasing the industrial sector's contribution to the GDP, which aligns perfectly with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 aimed at diversifying sources of income.
Exhibition details and participating sectors
The 11-day exhibition features a diverse range of pavilions designed to meet the needs of families and the community. Exhibits cover a wide spectrum, including food products, consumer goods, modern household appliances, and building and construction solutions. The exhibition is open daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, providing ample time for shopping and exploring the latest innovations from the national industry.
The context of industrial transformation and Vision 2030
This exhibition is being held at a time when the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia is undergoing a radical and unprecedented transformation, driven by the Vision 2030 programs, most notably the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP). Through these programs, the Kingdom aims to transform itself into a leading industrial power and a global logistics hub by maximizing the added value of its natural resources and adopting Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. The "Made in Saudi Arabia" initiative is a key pillar supporting these trends, aiming to create a unified industrial identity that enhances the standing of Saudi products both locally and globally, making them the preferred choice for consumers.
The economic importance of Mecca
The exhibition gains added significance due to its location in the Holy City of Mecca. Mecca is not only the Qibla (direction of prayer) for Muslims, but also a vital commercial hub with unique demographic and economic characteristics. Mecca's markets are characterized by immense purchasing power stemming from the high population density of residents, in addition to the continuous influx of visitors, pilgrims, and Umrah performers. Therefore, promoting the presence of national products in this strategic market contributes to increasing domestic consumption rates, reducing reliance on foreign imports, supporting the trade balance, and creating new job opportunities for Saudi youth in various industrial and commercial sectors.
