Targeting 553,000 people: Malaria control campaign in displaced persons camps in Aden and Marib

launched The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center a field campaign yesterday to combat malaria in displacement camps in the governorates of Aden andMarib. This campaign is part of the second phase of the project to enhance malaria prevention and control, in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
The campaign includes field visits by four mobile medical teams, comprising 28 specialized health workers, to provide health services at the displacement sites. These services include early detection using rapid tests, accurate diagnosis, and the provision of free treatment for malaria cases according to approved protocols.
In addition, field insect surveys will be conducted to measure the density of disease vectors and identify breeding grounds. The campaign will benefit 553,000 people in 72 displacement camps.

Providing health services to displaced persons

The Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population for Primary Healthcare, Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Walidi, affirmed that launching these teams represents a significant step in enhancing access to healthcare services for displaced persons, who are among the most vulnerable and in need of medical care.
He commended the generous support provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which has contributed to the implementation of numerous vital health programs across various governorates.
This comes as an extension of the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to support local efforts to control malaria, reduce the health burden, and bolster the health recovery process in Yemen.
