5 awareness and guidance workshops at the World of Plants and Flowers Festival in Awamiyah

The educational and agricultural event aimed to support community initiatives and the participation of productive families.
The Director of the Agriculture Department at the Ministry branch, Engineer Walid Al-Shuwaired, explained that the festival, which lasts for five days, focuses in its first edition on the guidance aspect by providing specialized workshops to educate visitors on the basics of agriculture inside and outside the home.

Recycling waste

Al-Shuwaired added that the training programs include educating residents on the latest methods for recycling agricultural waste, ensuring its maximum benefit in the home environment and achieving sustainability.
He explained that the workshops also cover how to care for trees and the safe and judicious use of pesticides for insect and disease control, thus ensuring environmental safety and consumer health.

Farmer guidance

The Director of the Agriculture Department revealed that the festival grounds support these awareness initiatives by hosting more than 35 stalls showcasing seedlings and flowers, with an active presence of the extension unit responsible for guiding farmers and visitors.
He noted that field guides provide detailed explanations on the best methods for acquiring seedlings, determining the appropriate times for planting them, and demonstrating how to maintain them to remain evergreen in various locations.

Awareness efforts

Al-Shuwaired emphasized that these joint awareness and field efforts contribute to achieving the festival's ultimate goal: supporting vegetation and preserving the Qatif Oasis as a lush, green environment.
He concluded by praising the high level of engagement and participation from volunteers and marketing and agricultural associations, inviting all segments of society to visit the festival and benefit from its diverse range of educational activities.
