Yassleh: Despite the difficult circumstances, we qualified
Al-Ahli Saudi coach Matias Jäissle expressed his great pride in what his team’s players presented in the match that brought them together with their Qatari counterpart Al-Duhail, at the “Al-Inma” stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the round of 16 competitions of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025-2026, which ended with Al-Ahli winning by a score of (1-0).
In his post-match remarks, Yaisle emphasized that the fighting spirit was the defining characteristic of the team's performance, noting that the players put on a great show despite the difficult circumstances the team is facing, given the numerous injuries that have affected its technical options.
He explained that the coaching staff had to field a number of players who had recently returned from injury, which posed an additional challenge, but the players’ response was outstanding, and they showed strong character and high tactical discipline throughout the match.
The Al-Ahli coach added that such matches reflect the team's true strength, explaining that the victory was not easy against an organized opponent like Al-Duhail, but determination and focus were crucial in achieving the goal.
Yasle concluded his remarks by emphasizing his great happiness with this victory and qualification, considering that reaching the quarter-finals is an important step in the team’s journey, and a strong motivation to continue progressing in the continental championship and fulfilling the fans’ aspirations.
