Arbeloa after the defeat against Bayern: We are capable of qualifying from Germany
Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has asserted that his team is capable of staging a comeback against Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals and continuing their journey in the tournament.
Real Madrid lost to Bayern Munich 2-1 in the first leg match held on Tuesday evening at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, and now need to win by two goals in the second leg match next Wednesday at the Allianz Arena.
Costly mistakes
Arbeloa said in comments reported by his club's website: "We could have avoided defeat in the second half with a bit of luck, but we faced a great team against whom if you make a mistake you will pay the price, and that's what happened.".
Confidence in achieving the comeback
He added: “It won’t be easy in the second leg, but if there’s a team that can win in Munich, it’s Real Madrid. We’ll go to Germany with all our strength to win, and anyone who doesn’t believe that can stay in Madrid.”.
The Real Madrid coach continued: “It is unfortunate that we did not take advantage of the additional opportunities, but I have great confidence that we will go to Germany and win. We will not focus only on the psychological aspect, but also on the footballing aspect, because we are Real Madrid and we fear no one.”.
