The General Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque announced the launch of a specialized educational course entitled "Guiding the Pilgrim to the Etiquette and Objectives of the Hajj Rituals," as part of its operational plan for this year's Hajj season. This initiative aims to deepen the religious awareness of pilgrims and enable them to perform the fifth pillar of Islam with understanding and knowledge. The course will be held at the Grand Mosque from the 1st to the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah.

Historical context and the importance of educating pilgrims

Hajj is a great spiritual journey that draws the hearts of millions of Muslims annually. Since its founding, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given great attention to organizing and facilitating this ritual. Historically, religious study and guidance sessions were an integral part of the Hajj pilgrimage, with scholars guiding pilgrims and teaching them about their faith. In modern times, these efforts have taken on an organized, institutional character to ensure that every pilgrim receives accurate and reliable religious information. This educational course is a continuation of this great legacy and embodies the mission of the Two Holy Mosques in disseminating moderate Islamic knowledge.

Course objectives and expected impact

The importance of this course extends beyond simply providing information; it encompasses achieving profound religious and spiritual objectives. Locally, these programs contribute to organizing the rituals and minimizing common errors that some pilgrims might make, thus ensuring a smooth experience and the safety of all. Furthermore, they enhance spirituality and tranquility in the hearts of pilgrims, making their journey more impactful in terms of self-discipline and character development.

On the international level, offering this knowledge in multiple languages reflects the civilized image of Islam and its universal message based on moderation, tolerance, and ease. Pilgrims return to their countries not only with spiritual memories but also with a deeper understanding of their faith, becoming ambassadors of Islam's tolerant values. These efforts contribute to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and unity among Muslims from all corners of the earth and support the Kingdom's mission of serving Islam and Muslims.

Topics of the scientific course

The course includes a series of lessons and lectures delivered by a select group of eminent scholars, covering various aspects of Hajj jurisprudence, including:

  • The major objectives of Hajj: Explaining the spiritual and educational wisdom and secrets behind each ritual.
  • Etiquette of the rituals: Focusing on the behaviors that the pilgrim should adopt in order to glorify the rituals of God.
