Mohammed Al-Bati tops the list of construction leaders in Saudi Arabia 2025 for the second time

In an achievement that reflects the leadership of the real estate development sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the CEO of the National Housing Company (NHC), Mr. Mohammed Al-Bati , topped Construction Week magazine’s list of the 30 most influential leaders in redefining the construction landscape in the Kingdom for 2025. This crowning achievement of first place for the second year in a row confirms the pivotal role that Al-Bati plays in leading the qualitative transformation in the housing sector, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Leading the transformation of the Saudi housing sector

Al-Bati's top ranking on this list was no coincidence, but rather the culmination of a massive strategic effort led by the National Housing Company to reshape the urban landscape in Saudi Arabia. Since assuming leadership, the company has worked to bridge the gap between supply and demand in the real estate market, directly contributing to increasing homeownership rates among citizens, a key pillar of the housing program aimed at reaching 70% by 2030. The figures demonstrate the success of this strategy, with NHC currently accounting for 62% of off-plan sales and 30% of real estate financing in the Kingdom.

Record numbers and international partnerships

The past two years have witnessed unprecedented growth in the company's performance, with the expansion of its real estate portfolio in 2025 through the launch of six new developments across Riyadh, Jeddah, the Eastern Province, and Tabuk. Sales from these developments have exceeded SAR 29 billion, reflecting the high level of trust customers place in the company's products. The company has not limited itself to local operations but has strengthened its position as a regional and international player through strategic partnerships with major companies from the United States, China, South Korea, Turkey, and Egypt, with an investment portfolio exceeding SAR 40 billion, underscoring the attractiveness of the Saudi real estate market for foreign investment.

Sustainable development and quality of life

Under Al-Bati's leadership, the National Housing Company's role extends beyond simply building residential units; it encompasses enhancing quality of life and developing integrated infrastructure. In this context, the company announced the commencement of construction on 166 schools across its various destinations in collaboration with the Buildings Development Company. This initiative supports the educational environment and contributes to the "Green Saudi Arabia" initiative by adopting sustainable building standards. The company also places particular emphasis on human capital development through its "Wa'ed" program, which successfully graduated 500 young Saudi talents in its fifth cohort during 2025, preparing them to provide the labor market with qualified future leaders.

Economic and social impact

This international ranking is a testament to the significant economic impact the company has on non-oil GDP, as it leads a comprehensive development drive. These efforts culminated in the company receiving prestigious awards for social responsibility and volunteer work in 2024. With the company aiming to reach 600,000 housing units by 2030, and having achieved 50% of this target by the end of last year, Mohammed Al-Bati's role as one of the most prominent architects of the modern urban renaissance in the Kingdom is firmly established, presenting a national model for integrated development that places human beings at its core.
