The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince support the Ihsan campaign with $18.66 million
In a move that reflects the deep cohesion between the leadership and the people, and embodies the highest meanings of giving and social solidarity, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, launched the fourth edition of the National Campaign for Charitable Work through the “Ihsan” platform, with two generous donations totaling 70 million Saudi Riyals (equivalent to 18.66 million US dollars).
This blessed launch came with a donation of 40 million riyals from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, while His Royal Highness the Crown Prince donated 30 million riyals, thus announcing the launch of the campaign that aims to promote the values of charitable work and empower the non-profit sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ihsan Platform: A qualitative leap in charitable work
These generous donations come as part of the ongoing support provided by the wise leadership to the "Ihsan" platform, developed by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). The platform is a pioneering model for harnessing technology to serve humanity, facilitating the donation process and ensuring its easy and convenient delivery to those in need, while guaranteeing the highest standards of transparency and reliability. Since its launch, the platform has contributed to organizing charitable work and unifying governmental, private, and non-profit efforts to enhance the efficiency of development work.
Charitable work and the Kingdom's Vision 2030
This charitable movement is inextricably linked to the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which has placed great emphasis on the non-profit sector and sought to increase its contribution to the GDP. The Vision aims to reach one million volunteers and develop the financial resources of the charitable sector, making it a key partner in comprehensive development. The leadership's support for these campaigns underscores its commitment to empowering this vital sector to be more effective and sustainable.
The impact of donations and the importance of timing
This campaign gains added significance due to its timing, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, a time when philanthropists compete in acts of kindness. These donations are directed towards supporting numerous charitable and developmental areas, including healthcare, education, housing, orphan care, debt relief for those in financial distress, and providing food for needy families. This substantial support from the leadership serves as a powerful incentive for citizens, residents, and business leaders to contribute to the campaign, thus strengthening the spirit of social solidarity and reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood within Saudi society.
In conclusion, this generous donation from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince reinforces a consistent approach of the Saudi state since its founding in sponsoring charitable work, and presents a clear message to the world about the Kingdom’s humanitarian values and the keenness of its leadership to address the needs of citizens and provide a decent life for the most needy groups.
