King Salman Relief Center distributes food aid in 4 countries
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continues to affirm its leading role in global charitable work. The center recently intensified its relief efforts to include the distribution of urgent food aid in four Arab and Islamic countries, targeting the most needy groups, displaced persons, and refugees, in a step that reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting global food security.
Supporting refugees and the host community in Lebanon
In response to the difficult living conditions in Lebanon, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 1,599 food baskets and 1,599 cartons of dates yesterday in the Bekaa Governorate. This aid targeted Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as the most vulnerable families in the host community.
This initiative benefited approximately 7,995 individuals. This step comes within the framework of the food aid distribution and date distribution projects in the Lebanese Republic, which contributes to easing the economic burdens on families in light of the current circumstances.
Urgent relief in Sudan
In a related context, and in recognition of the humanitarian crisis facing the brotherly Sudanese people, the center distributed 2,300 food baskets in the Sheikan locality of North Kordofan State. These aid packages benefited 2,300 families from the most vulnerable groups.
This aid falls under the third phase of the food security support project in Sudan for the year 2025, through which the Kingdom seeks to bridge the food gap and provide the basic needs of those affected by conflicts and harsh natural conditions.
Quality aid in Chad and Afghanistan
Saudi Arabia’s benevolent hands have extended to the African continent and Central Asia, where the city of Mchimri in the Bahr el Ghazal region of the Republic of Chad witnessed the distribution of 900 food baskets, benefiting 5,400 individuals from the most needy groups, as part of the in-kind assistance project for the year 2025.
In Afghanistan, the center distributed 404 food baskets today in Farkhar district of Takhar province, benefiting 2,424 individuals from 404 families. The distribution included returnees, internally displaced persons, and orphans, as part of the 2026 Food Security and Emergency Support Project.
The strategic role of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center
This simultaneous deployment across four countries demonstrates the high logistical capabilities of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which was established to serve as an umbrella for Saudi humanitarian efforts abroad. This aid is particularly significant given its timing, as it contributes to strengthening community resilience in areas facing complex crises, whether economic or security-related.
These efforts come in fulfillment of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which places humanitarian work at the heart of its international concerns, and in confirmation of the Kingdom’s noble mission to extend a helping hand to those in need around the world without discrimination, thus enhancing its position as one of the largest donors of humanitarian and development aid in the world.
