Ramadan sales 1447 AH begin in Saudi Arabia: Date and how to check
The Ministry of Commerce in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the launch of the "Ramadan Discounts" season for the year 1447 AH, which is considered one of the most important annual commercial seasons. Applications and benefits from the season will begin on 13 Sha'ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 1, 2026, and will continue until 7 Shawwal 1447 AH, corresponding to March 26, 2026. This step comes within the framework of regulating the commercial environment and stimulating purchasing activity during the holy month and the blessed Eid al-Fitr.
This exceptional season spans 54 days, covering the peak shopping period that begins with preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, continues through the fasting days, and culminates in preparations for Eid al-Fitr. The season includes all Ramadan goods and products, Eid necessities, fashion items, electronics, and other products that are in high demand during this time. The Ministry has invited all commercial establishments and online stores wishing to participate to easily and conveniently apply for discount licenses electronically through the dedicated platform: sales.mc.gov.sa.
The importance of the season and revitalizing the markets
The Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr seasons hold significant economic importance in Saudi and Gulf markets, with consumer spending rising noticeably. Extending the discount period to include the days before Ramadan and after Eid aims to encourage consumers to shop early, thus spreading their purchasing power over a longer period and avoiding the heavy crowds that typically plague markets in the final moments before Ramadan or on the eve of Eid, resulting in a more comfortable and seamless shopping experience.
Facilities for stores and consumer protection
In the context of supporting the business sector, the ministry explained that the electronic application for discounts aims to enable establishments and online stores to obtain licenses immediately and print them to show to consumers, without these days being deducted from the annual balance of discounts available to the establishment, which is an additional incentive for merchants to provide the best offers.
Regarding consumer protection and enhancing transparency, the ministry emphasized the importance of verifying the legitimacy and validity of discounts. Shoppers can use their mobile phone cameras to scan the barcode displayed on the discount permit shown in the store. This will immediately display all official information related to the offer, including the type and percentage of the discount, its actual duration, and the establishment's basic details, thus preventing any manipulation or misleading offers.
Continuous field monitoring
The Ministry of Commerce affirmed its commitment to continuing intensive inspection tours of commercial establishments and markets throughout the Kingdom during the season. These tours aim to verify the legitimacy of discounts, ensure that stores display price tags (before and after the discount), and guarantee the absence of commercial fraud or consumer deception. The Ministry emphasized that it will not hesitate to apply the prescribed penalties against violators to ensure a fair and reliable business environment.
