His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a telephone call today from His Excellency Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This call came within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries, during which they reviewed the strong bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields.

During the call, the two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments and the efforts being made to address them, in a way that serves the interests of both countries and strengthens international peace and security. They also emphasized the importance of intensifying joint efforts to confront the current challenges facing the region, and reaffirmed the deep fraternal ties that bind the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The depth of historical relations between Riyadh and Islamabad

Saudi-Pakistani relations are characterized by their historical and strategic nature, spanning decades and based on solid foundations of Islamic brotherhood and shared interests. Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Pakistan and has remained a key supporter during various economic and political crises. Riyadh views Islamabad as a vital strategic partner in South Asia, while Pakistan considers the Kingdom a central hub for Muslims and an indispensable partner in promoting stability within the Islamic world.

The importance of coordination on regional issues

This contact is of particular importance given the delicate circumstances in the Middle East and the world, where current geopolitical tensions necessitate high-level coordination among influential member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Both sides are constantly striving to unify their visions and positions on critical issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, combating terrorism, and working to de-escalate regional tensions.

Economic and investment cooperation

On the economic front, relations between the two countries are witnessing significant momentum, with the Kingdom, through its Vision 2030, seeking to expand its foreign investments, and Pakistan being a promising destination for these investments. The past period has seen an exchange of high-level visits aimed at removing obstacles for Saudi investors and increasing the volume of trade, reflecting the desire of both leaderships to move relations from traditional cooperation to a sustainable economic partnership.
