Kadana station receives 2.5 million pilgrims during Ramadan with integrated services

The Kadana station set a new record in operational efficiency and logistics, receiving approximately 2.5 million visitors during the first fifteen days of Ramadan. This achievement is part of a comprehensive, round-the-clock operational system designed to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims and worshippers to and from the Grand Mosque.

A strategic role in crowd management

The Kadana Station is a vital project overseen by Kadana Development and Investment Company (the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites). The station plays a pivotal role in alleviating traffic congestion in the central area surrounding the Grand Mosque by providing a direct shuttle service. This operational model not only facilitates access but also reflects the significant development in the transportation infrastructure of the Holy City, aligning with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the experience of pilgrims and improve the quality of services provided to them.

Integrated services and modern facilities

The station's efforts have not been limited to transportation alone; it has transformed into a comprehensive service center catering to all the needs of visitors. The station includes organized bus stops, ticket booths, and a diverse commercial area featuring barbershops, ATMs, and food and beverage carts. The site is also equipped with mobile prayer areas, restrooms, and comfortable waiting areas, providing a convenient and safe experience for pilgrims before and after performing their rituals.

Humanitarian and Ramadan initiatives

Embodying the values of generosity and hospitality that characterize Makkah society, the station witnessed the implementation of several initiatives, most notably the "Ramadan Hospitality Camp" organized by the Hafawa Association for Serving Pilgrims, Umrah Performers, and Visitors in partnership with the Kadana Company. Daily iftar meals, including dates and hot beverages, are distributed, along with special support services for the elderly and guidance for those who are lost, thus enhancing the spirituality and tranquility of the visitors.

Preparing for the last ten days

With the arrival of the last ten days of Ramadan, which typically see peak crowds in Mecca, the Kadana Company has raised its operational readiness to the highest level. Field teams are working around the clock to ensure the anticipated increase in the number of pilgrims visiting the Grand Mosque, leveraging the station's strategic location near the Holy Mosque to guarantee a smooth and safe transportation experience that reflects the Kingdom's distinguished image in serving the guests of God.
