Subul: Integrated logistics services for pilgrims in 10 countries for the 1445 Hajj season
Saudi Post (Sabil) announced its operational readiness for the 1445 AH Hajj season, fulfilling its role as a leading national logistics arm. These preparations aim to provide a comprehensive suite of postal and logistical services to pilgrims, enhancing operational efficiency and facilitating their spiritual journey, in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The “Makkah Route” initiative: Facilitating the Hajj journey from its source
Sabl actively participates in the Makkah Route Initiative, a leading initiative launched by the Ministry of Interior as part of its Guests of God Service Program. This initiative, now in its eighth consecutive year, aims to streamline the Hajj pilgrimage process for pilgrims from their home countries. This includes electronic visa issuance and biometric data collection, passport control at departure airports, and baggage sorting and labeling according to transportation and accommodation arrangements within the Kingdom. Upon arrival, pilgrims are transported directly to designated bus routes to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah, while service providers, primarily Sabl, handle the delivery of their luggage.
International expansion of "Subul" logistics services
This year, Sabil expanded its services within the initiative to include 17 international outlets in 10 countries, offering its services in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Pakistan, Turkey, Morocco, and Côte d'Ivoire. For the first time this year, Senegal and Brunei Darussalam joined the list of countries benefiting from the initiative. This integrated operational model is based on facilitating the pilgrims' journey from their departure from the initiative's terminal in their home countries until their arrival at their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah.
Huge operational and human capabilities
To support these extensive operations, “Subul” has dedicated all its human and technological resources. A specialized team of over 565 trained employees works around the clock to ensure smooth operations. This team is supported by a massive logistics fleet of over 100 trucks and 65 vehicles dedicated to transporting parcels and luggage. The process begins with tagging the luggage and bags of pilgrims in the initiative's designated terminals at airports in participating countries, then transporting them directly to their accommodations in the Kingdom, thus embodying the “Hajj Without Luggage” concept and elevating the pilgrim experience to an unprecedented level.
Strategic importance and impact
The participation of “Subul” goes beyond simply providing logistical services; it reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing the highest levels of service to pilgrims. Domestically, these efforts highlight the integration between government and private entities to achieve the goals of Vision 2030. Internationally, the “Makkah Route” initiative and “Subul’s” services enhance the Kingdom’s reputation as a leading model in managing large crowds and religious gatherings, and strengthen its relations with participating countries by offering their citizens a seamless and comfortable Hajj experience.
