New Saudi aid crosses Rafah to provide relief to Gaza

As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, a new batch of Saudi relief trucks crossed the Rafah border crossing, loaded with tons of food, medical and shelter supplies, in preparation for distributing them to those affected inside the Strip.

Details of the new relief aid

This new convoy comes as part of the popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is overseeing the delivery of this aid, which includes essential supplies such as food baskets, shelter kits, and urgent medical supplies aimed at addressing the critical shortages plaguing the health sector in Gaza.

Context of the Saudi air bridge

Since the outbreak of the recent humanitarian crisis, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has swiftly established an air bridge of relief supplies, reaching El Arish International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The airport has received dozens of Saudi relief planes carrying ambulances, generators, advanced medical equipment, and food supplies. These supplies are being transported sequentially by truck from El Arish to the Rafah border crossing in full coordination with the Egyptian and Palestinian Red Crescent Societies to ensure their delivery to those in need.

The importance of support in light of the current circumstances

The arrival of this aid is of paramount importance given the catastrophic conditions in the Gaza Strip, where hospitals are suffering from severe shortages of fuel and medicine, and residents face critical shortages of food and clean water. Saudi aid is helping to alleviate this suffering, as the Kingdom was among the first countries to respond to the humanitarian appeal, dedicating all its logistical and diplomatic resources to ensure the continued flow of aid.

The historical and firm Saudi position

This humanitarian gesture reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's longstanding and unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause, as the Kingdom consistently affirms its support for the Palestinian people in various crises and hardships. Saudi support extends beyond relief efforts to include tireless diplomatic endeavors aimed at de-escalation and the protection of civilians, highlighting the Kingdom's leading role in promoting regional stability and supporting international humanitarian action.
