terrorist militias

Al-Badawi affirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states consider Hezbollah, with all its leaders, factions, affiliated organizations, and offshoots, a terrorist organization, pursuant to a resolution adopted in 2016.
This designation stems from the continued hostile activities of these militias, including recruiting young people from GCC countries to carry out terrorist acts, smuggling weapons and explosives, inciting sectarian strife, and fomenting chaos and violence, in flagrant violation of the sovereignty, security, and stability of these countries.
The Secretary-General also reiterated the GCC's complete rejection of all practices that threaten the security and stability of Lebanon and its brotherly people, and that attempt to spread chaos and division within the country.

Chaos and successive crises

He stressed that any attempts to keep Lebanon in a state of chaos and successive crises, and to threaten its legitimate institutions, would not be acceptable regionally or internationally.
The Secretary-General reiterated the GCC's support for the constructive steps taken by Lebanon under the leadership of President Joseph Aoun, and the reform measures undertaken by the Lebanese government under Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
He also emphasized the importance of all Lebanese political parties supporting the reform approach, rallying around the state to extricate Lebanon from its crises, and contributing to achieving security, stability, and prosperity for Lebanon and its brotherly people.
