
The comprehensive maintenance project for the Holy Kaaba has been completed, adhering to the highest international standards
The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques, in coordination with relevant authorities, announced the completion of periodic maintenance Holy Kaaba and the Hijr Ismail (the semi-circular wall adjacent to the Kaaba), in accordance with the highest international engineering, technical, and operational standards.
The Authority explained that the project was implemented according to a precise operational plan that ensured the continued smooth flow of worshippers in the circumambulation area (Mataf) without disrupting the performance of the rituals.
Maintenance work
She explained that the maintenance work took about (4700) working hours distributed over (31) main packages, which included (305) diverse activities, including the maintenance of the interior of the Holy Kaaba , its surface and its outer surroundings, in addition to carrying out precise checks and tests of the internal elements.

The maintenance work also included replacing more than 30 linear meters of silicone expansion joints around the Holy Kaaba, covering all damaged sections, in addition to regrouting more than 50 linear meters of marble joints around Kaaba . Furthermore, the entire marble flooring surrounding the Holy Kaaba, including the area around the Kaaba's door, was polished and buffed, reflecting meticulous attention to detail.
The Authority emphasized that the project was executed by qualified Saudi personnel, using the latest technologies and materials that meet international standards, with the active participation of supporting entities. This enhances operational efficiency and ensures the long-term sustainability of the Holy Kaaba's components.
