
Trump: Iran has become desperate and is in very bad shape
US President Donald Trump that Iran is desperate and in very bad shape, and that his country will not allow it to acquire nuclear weapons.
Al Arabiya quoted Trump as saying, "We will impose a blockade on Iran so that it cannot sell oil."
He continued, "The Iranians promised to open the Strait of Hormuz , but they lied and did not do so, and we will work to open the strait."
Regarding NATO, Trump said, "I am frustrated with NATO after we have spent trillions of dollars on the alliance."
Trump's options
The Wall Street Journal reported that President Donald Trump remains open to a diplomatic solution with Iran, and is considering the less likely option of launching a massive bombing campaign against Iran, as well as exploring several other options in addition to a naval blockade.
Al Arabiya, via its X-linked account, quoted the Wall Street Journal as saying that Trump is considering limited strikes against Iran.
The newspaper noted that the door to diplomacy between the United States and Iran remains open, and that a new round of talks between the two countries could take place within days.

Siege on Iranian cities
Al Arabiya also quoted US military sources as saying: "We will impose a blockade on all ships entering or leaving Iranian ports, starting today, Monday, at 2:00 PM GMT."
They added: "We will not impede the freedom of movement of ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports, and we will provide merchant mariners with additional information before the blockade begins."
