In a move aimed at enhancing the services provided to pilgrims, His Excellency the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, inaugurated a specialized training course entitled “Enhancing Communication Skills with Visitors.” This course targets staff members of the Presidency working at the Prophet's Mosque, with the goal of refining their skills and equipping them with the necessary tools for effective and productive interaction with the millions of visitors who flock to the city of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from all corners of the earth.
This initiative comes as part of a series of development programs adopted by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, which are directly in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The vision pays great attention to enriching the religious and cultural experience of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques, and providing them with the highest levels of service and hospitality, reflecting the civilized image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its noble mission in serving Islam and Muslims.
Historical context and importance of the Prophet's Mosque
The Prophet's Mosque holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. It is not merely a place of worship, but a center of cultural and intellectual influence since its founding by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Throughout history, the Prophet's Mosque has been a beacon of knowledge and guidance, and it has undergone numerous expansions during the Saudi era to accommodate the growing number of visitors. Serving those who visit this holy site requires a profound understanding of its significance and exceptional communication skills befitting its sanctity and the diverse cultures of its visitors.
Course objectives and expected impact
The course aims to instill noble human values in interactions with visitors, develop effective communication skills, the art of listening, body language, and the ability to interact with people of diverse nationalities and cultures. This course is expected to have a tangible positive impact on several levels:
- At the local level: Raising the efficiency of national staff working in the Prophet’s Mosque, and enhancing field performance, which directly reflects on the quality of services provided to visitors and citizens.
- At the international level: Enriching the faith experience of visitors coming from outside the Kingdom, and leaving a positive and lasting impression on them of the warm welcome and quality of service, thus enhancing the Kingdom’s global reputation as a leading religious destination.
During the inauguration of the training course, His Excellency Sheikh Al-Sudais emphasized the importance of investing in human capital, considering it the cornerstone of achieving institutional excellence. He stressed that developing employee capabilities and enhancing their professional readiness is the optimal way to meet the aspirations of the wise leadership in providing exceptional services to pilgrims and achieving the highest international quality standards in crowd management and visitor services.
