The authority said Geological Survey Seismic activity in the Kingdom is concentrated at the Kingdom level in the Arabian Shield region and along the Red Sea from north to south.

The Geological Survey said that this activity is related to the tectonic boundary surrounding the Kingdom from the west, represented by the Red Sea belt, in addition to the activity of the parallel and perpendicular faults on the Red Sea within the Kingdom, as well as the activity of volcanic magma under the volcanic lava fields extending from the south to the north of the Arabian Shield region, starting from the Jazan region, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah region, reaching the north of the Kingdom.
