As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing international humanitarian efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has provided a significant package of medical assistance to healthcare facilities in the most affected areas of Ukraine. This initiative comes in response to the urgent need to support the Ukrainian healthcare sector and ensure the continued provision of vital medical services to those affected by the current crisis.
The aid shipment included sophisticated and life-saving medical equipment, such as 15 advanced anesthesia machines, 8 state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring and stimulation devices, and 15 electrosurgical units. It also contained 15 blood warmers, 7 automated biochemical analyzers, and 1 automated microbiological analyzer, along with a wide range of other essential medical equipment that hospitals in conflict zones lack.

This generous support aims to bring about a significant improvement in the level of services provided to patients. The equipment will focus on enhancing the safety of medical care and accelerating accurate diagnostic processes. The initiative also includes programs to train Ukrainian medical personnel on the safe and effective use of modern technologies and to strengthen biosafety procedures within laboratories. This support is expected to improve access to essential healthcare services for approximately 10 million people, thus alleviating human suffering.

This grant is comprised of $100 million in humanitarian aid through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and $300 million in petroleum derivatives provided by the Saudi Fund for Development.
