With the Kingdom hosting major international events and championships, such as Formula 1 races, the Dakar Rally, and Asian championships, and its drive to attract global stars across various sports, the need for a professional national media workforce capable of providing media coverage befitting the scale of these events and meeting international standards has become paramount. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between ambitious sporting aspirations and the corresponding media demands.

These programs are expected to have a multifaceted positive impact. Locally, they will contribute to raising the quality of sports content offered to the Saudi public and provide promising career opportunities for young men and women interested in this field. Regionally and internationally, training professional sports journalists will enhance the Kingdom's position as a leading regional sports hub and contribute to conveying a professional image of the Saudi sports scene to the world, which is a key component of the Kingdom's soft power strategies.
In this regard, the Deputy Minister of Information and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Academy for Media, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth, explained that these programs come as an extension of the directives of the Minister of Information, Mr. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari, aimed at qualifying and empowering national cadres and raising their professional efficiency in the field of sports media, to keep pace with the rapid developments taking place in the Kingdom.
