The leadership congratulates the President of Uganda on his re-election, affirming the depth of relations

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, sent a congratulatory cable to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, on the occasion of his re-election for a new presidential term, in a move that reflects the depth of diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Uganda.
In his telegram, the King expressed his sincerest congratulations and best wishes for success to His Excellency in his upcoming presidential duties, wishing the brotherly people of the Republic of Uganda further progress, prosperity, security, and stability. He also praised the distinguished relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, relations which all strive to strengthen and develop in all fields to serve their common interests.
Strengthening the strategic partnership
In the same vein, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent a similar congratulatory cable to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. His Royal Highness expressed his sincerest congratulations and best wishes for continued success to His Excellency and for further progress and prosperity to the brotherly people of the Republic of Uganda, affirming the Kingdom's keenness to advance bilateral relations to broader horizons.
Dimensions of Saudi-Ugandan relations
This congratulatory message holds particular significance given the strong historical ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Uganda. Both countries are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and share common perspectives on numerous regional and international issues. Relations between Riyadh and Kampala are characterized by growing cooperation across various sectors, most notably labor, trade, and agricultural investment. Uganda, rich in natural resources, is a key African nation attracting Saudi investment interest, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening partnerships with the African continent.
Uganda and regional stability
President Yoweri Museveni is one of Africa’s most prominent and longest-serving leaders, having played a pivotal role in shaping the political landscape of East Africa and the Great Lakes region. The Kingdom views Uganda’s stability as integral to the stability of the entire East African region, a stance consistent with the Kingdom’s foreign policy of supporting security and sustainable development in brotherly and friendly nations. Museveni’s re-election comes at a time when Uganda is striving to advance its economic development plans and address regional challenges, a path supported by the Kingdom through development funds and joint projects aimed at the well-being of the Ugandan people.
