Riyadh is a regional hub that attracts global companies

Minister of Investment Fahd Al-Saif inaugurated today in Riyadh the regional headquarters of Lenovo for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance its attractiveness as a regional hub for global companies, within the framework of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives.

He explained that Lenovo's choice of the Kingdom as its regional headquarters reflects the strength of the Saudi economy, the attractiveness of its investment environment, and its rapid economic transformation. He noted that this step exemplifies the success of the regional headquarters attraction program in drawing in global companies and enabling them to manage their operations and expand in the region from the Kingdom. It also underscores the tremendous opportunities available to investors in the Kingdom and the Middle East region as a whole.

Employment, localization and industry

He explained that the company, through its regional headquarters, is working to build an integrated presence in the Saudi market in cooperation with a number of national entities, which contributes to supporting its regional growth and meeting global demand, through the integration of a business system that combines decision-making, logistics services and an enabling investment environment.

He pointed out that Lenovo’s investments in the Kingdom include developing research and development programs and skills development, in addition to establishing a manufacturing platform with a production capacity of up to about 8 million units annually, which contributes to creating quality job opportunities and supporting the localization of technology and industry.

Al-Saif emphasized that these partnerships with global companies contribute to strengthening the Kingdom’s position in global technology value chains, supporting national industry, accelerating knowledge transfer and human resource development, in addition to providing a platform for international companies to expand and innovate in one of the fastest-growing markets in the region.

It is worth noting that the inauguration of Lenovo’s regional headquarters coincides with the expansion of its business in Riyadh’s integrated logistics zone, which is attracting an increasing number of international companies to establish their advanced operations in the Kingdom.
