Pakistani Prime Minister arrives in Medina
In a move to strengthen close religious and diplomatic ties, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Madinah on Thursday. The visit is to pray at the Prophet's Mosque and pay their respects to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his two companions (may God be pleased with them). Among those welcoming him at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport were His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah Region, along with several senior officials, including the Mayor of Madinah, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Balihishi, the Director of Police for Madinah Region, Major General Yousef Abdullah Al-Zahrani, and the Director of the Royal Protocol Office for Madinah Region, Ibrahim bin Abdullah Bari.

The relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is based on solid historical foundations, rooted in shared Islamic faith and mutual strategic interests. For decades, the two countries have stood shoulder to shoulder in various international forums. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest supporters of the Pakistani economy through direct investments, financial deposits, and development aid. In return, Pakistan plays a pivotal role in supporting the security and stability of the region. The Kingdom also hosts a large Pakistani community of over two million people, who contribute effectively to the country's development and urban growth, making this relationship a model of Islamic solidarity.
Strategic talks with the Crown Prince in Jeddah
Following his spiritual visit to Medina, the Prime Minister of Pakistan traveled to Jeddah, where he held a significant bilateral summit with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to review the prospects for the close bilateral relations and explore ways to enhance them further, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and Pakistan's development plans. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince commended the tireless efforts of the Pakistani government, under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif, to bolster economic growth and develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations in the areas of trade, investment, and defense.
Regional and international influence and coordination of positions
The discussions were not limited to bilateral matters but extended to include the latest regional and international developments. This visit is of exceptional importance given the geopolitical challenges facing the Middle East and South Asia. Views were exchanged on the evolving situation in the region, including diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and restoring stability, with particular emphasis on Pakistan's role in hosting and facilitating important regional talks to bridge differences. In this context, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince commended the vital role played by the Pakistani military establishment, represented by the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in maintaining regional security and combating terrorism, thus underscoring the convergence of views between Riyadh and Islamabad on issues of international peace and security.
