Today's maximum temperatures in Saudi Arabia: Dammam 15°C and Riyadh 14°C

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia revealed details of the maximum temperatures recorded today, Wednesday, in various regions and cities of the Kingdom. The data showed a noticeable difference in the climatic conditions between the central and northern regions, which are experiencing relatively cold weather, and the western and coastal regions, which are still maintaining warm to hot temperatures.

In detail, Dammam in the Eastern Province recorded 15 degrees Celsius, a similar temperature to the capital, Riyadh, which recorded 14 degrees Celsius. This reflects the influence of cold air masses on the interior and eastern regions, which are lowering temperatures during this time of year. In contrast, the holy city of Mecca recorded the highest temperature on the list at 33 degrees Celsius, followed by Jeddah at 32 degrees Celsius, and Yanbu at 31 degrees Celsius, confirming the continuation of mild to warm weather along the Red Sea coast.

List of maximum temperatures in the cities of the Kingdom

Climate diversity and its impact on the atmosphere

This report reflects the great geographical and climatic diversity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While northern regions such as Tarif, Arar and Rafha record low temperatures approaching 10 degrees Celsius during the day, as a result of their proximity to climatic influences coming from the north of the Arabian Peninsula and their exposure to cold air masses, the western coastal regions enjoy a completely different climate thanks to the influence of the Red Sea and the Sarawat Mountains, which may block some of the cold currents coming from the center.

This temperature variation is a defining characteristic of the Kingdom's climate during winter and transitional periods. A dry, cold continental climate prevails in Najd and the north, while a humid, warm subtropical climate dominates the western and southern coasts. This diversity necessitates that residents and visitors constantly monitor weather forecasts, especially when traveling between regions, as a traveler can go from the summer-like conditions of Jeddah to the cold winter weather of Riyadh or Hail within a few hours.

The relevant authorities always call for caution and vigilance and follow the alerts of the National Center for Meteorology, especially in areas that are experiencing a sharp drop in temperatures or activity in surface winds that may stir up dust and sand and affect horizontal visibility on highways and open areas.
