Hassan Hilal appointed Chairman of the Development Committee of the Asian Handball Federation

In a move reflecting the growing continental confidence in Saudi administrative competencies, the board of directors of the Asian Handball Federation, headed by Kuwaiti Bader Al-Dhiyab, nominated Professor Hassan bin Nasr Hilal, President of the Saudi Handball Federation, to be a member of the board of directors of the continental federation, in addition to assigning him the duties of chairing the Development and Public Relations Committee, which is one of the most important active committees within the Asian system.
Details of the decision and the general assembly
This strategic decision was made during the Asian Handball Federation's General Assembly elections, hosted by Egypt's New Administrative Capital earlier this week. The meeting saw a large turnout and broad participation from representatives of member national federations, resulting in the selection of the leaders who will guide handball in Asia for the next phase, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and a shared desire to elevate the sport.
A distinguished career and accumulated experience
The selection and appointment of Hassan Hilal is not arbitrary, but rather a continuation of his distinguished career in sports administration. He previously served on the Asian Handball Federation's Marketing Committee for several years, where he played a prominent role in strengthening financial resources and developing the marketing identity of continental championships. This new endorsement confirms the confidence placed in Hilal due to his accumulated experience and achievements, both at the local level in leading Saudi handball and through his previous continental contributions.
Reflecting the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the development of Saudi sports
This appointment reflects the prestigious position Saudi sports have attained and their growing pivotal role in the regional and international sports movement, perfectly aligned with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes the sports sector to empower national leaders on the international stage. Saudi handball has witnessed remarkable development and significant progress in recent years, thanks to the institutional work spearheaded by Hilal during his brief tenure as president of the Saudi Handball Federation.
The importance of the Development and Relations Committee
The chairmanship of the Development and Relations Committee is of particular importance at present, as it bears the responsibility of expanding the base of handball players in Asia, opening new avenues of cooperation between national federations, and strengthening partnerships with the International Handball Federation. The presence of a leading Saudi figure at the helm of this committee is expected to contribute to sharing the Kingdom's successful experience in governance, organizing major tournaments, and supporting national teams, benefiting other member nations and thus enhancing the strength and competitiveness of Asian handball on the global stage.
