King Salman Relief Center completes 50 orthopedic surgeries in Gaza

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the health sector in Palestine, the volunteer medical team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center achieved a new medical milestone in the Gaza Strip. The team successfully performed 50 advanced and specialized orthopedic surgeries in cooperation with the Arab National Hospital in Gaza.

The medical campaign, part of a volunteer orthopedic surgery project running from December 5th to 27th, 2025, included the provision of intensive diagnostic and treatment services. The center's orthopedic clinic received 402 patients, providing them with necessary medical consultations and identifying cases requiring urgent surgical intervention for highly effective management.

Vital support under exceptional circumstances

This initiative is of paramount importance given the critical health conditions in the Gaza Strip, where hospitals are under immense pressure and suffering from a severe shortage of medical supplies and specialized personnel, particularly in the field of orthopedics and complex fractures, which have seen a significant increase recently. The intervention of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center team provides essential support to the strained healthcare system, contributing to saving limbs and preventing permanent disabilities for many injured and ill patients who desperately needed these delicate surgical interventions.

Extension of the Kingdom's historical role

This project is not a one-off event, but rather a link in a long chain of Saudi Arabia's support for the Palestinian people. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, has consistently operated air and sea bridges and provided direct financial and medical assistance. Historically, Saudi Arabia has always been at the forefront of countries supporting the Palestinian cause on all levels, with the Center's strategy focusing on supporting vital sectors that directly impact the lives of Palestinian citizens, most notably the health and food security sectors.

Humanitarian impact and alleviation of suffering

This volunteer medical project aims to go beyond simply performing surgeries; it seeks to alleviate the financial and psychological burden on patients and their families, especially given the difficulty of traveling abroad for treatment due to border closures and restrictions. Furthermore, the presence of Saudi medical professionals volunteering alongside Palestinian doctors contributes to the exchange of expertise and enhances the skills of local medical staff in handling complex cases in the future.

This ongoing medical movement confirms the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s firm commitment to the principles of Arab brotherhood and solidarity, and its tireless efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis experienced by our brothers in the Gaza Strip, translating feelings of sympathy into tangible actions on the ground that contribute to healing wounds and creating hope.
