The Crown Prince discusses strengthening the strategic partnership with the President of Switzerland

In a move reflecting the deepening bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Swiss Confederation, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received the President of the Swiss Confederation. The meeting included a comprehensive review of existing cooperation between the two friendly countries and explored ways to strengthen and develop it across various fields, serving their mutual interests and fulfilling the aspirations of the leadership and people of both nations.

These discussions take place within a long history of strong diplomatic and economic relations between Riyadh and Bern, spanning decades. Switzerland has long been a significant economic partner for the Kingdom, serving as a leading global financial center and a destination for Saudi investments. Conversely, the Kingdom is a strategic partner for Switzerland in the Middle East, given its political and economic weight. This meeting is part of Saudi Arabia's active diplomatic efforts to build bridges of cooperation with influential international powers, in line with the ambitious goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

The discussions focused particularly on economic and investment aspects, highlighting the promising opportunities that Vision 2030 offers to Swiss investors and companies, especially in the advanced technology, sustainable finance, renewable energy, and luxury tourism and hospitality sectors. Swiss expertise in these areas is considered vital to the major projects underway in the Kingdom, opening up broad prospects for new strategic partnerships and the transfer of knowledge and technology.

This meeting is of paramount importance both regionally and internationally. It underscores the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia as an active member of the G20 and a key contributor to the stability of global energy markets. It also reflects the two countries' commitment to coordinating their positions on issues of mutual interest and supporting international efforts aimed at achieving global peace and stability. This rapprochement is expected to enhance dialogue between the Gulf region and Europe and open new avenues for cooperation in addressing shared global challenges such as climate change and food security.
