Princess Nourah University launches the "Excel" analytical camp to empower female talent
The camp runs until Tuesday, April 14, and targets female administrative staff members, university students and graduates, and those interested in data analysis, to enable them to transform data into strategic insights.
It focuses on data organization and processing skills, the use of statistical functions and formulas and pivot tables, all the way to designing interactive dashboards and applying artificial intelligence tools in Excel.
Developing participants' skills
The camp includes three training workshops:
- Introduction to data science and the role of Excel in the workplace – definition using basic and statistical functions and formulas.
- Data analysis using pivot tables and dashboards – an overview of pivot tables and advanced analysis techniques.
- The applied project in data analysis using Excel – implementing analytical projects and building an interactive dashboard.
The camp also includes a panel discussion titled "The Importance of Data and its Analysis in the Job Market," featuring specialists who will connect training outcomes with workplace needs by integrating practical application with hands-on training through real-world projects.
Dr. Shahra Al-Ghamdi, head of the camp and a faculty member in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the College of Science, explained that "the Excel Analytical Camp represents a unique opportunity to develop participants' skills in data analysis and its practical application. Excel stands out as an essential tool for analysis and creating dashboards, contributing to the transformation of data into practical insights that support decision-making."
The camp is organized as part of the College of Science's efforts to contribute to achieving the goals of Princess Nourah University's strategic plan, which aims to empower students with technical and analytical skills, enhance their readiness for the job market, and build national competencies capable of working with data in the field of artificial intelligence.
