King Salman Center launches the seventh phase of mobile clinics in Yemen

In a new humanitarian step reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to supporting the brotherly Yemeni people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed a joint cooperation agreement to operate the seventh phase of its mobile clinic system in the governorates of Saada and Hajjah. The signing ceremony took place virtually, with the Center represented by Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, in cooperation with a specialized civil society organization.
This vital agreement aims to provide integrated healthcare services to over 72,488 beneficiaries in targeted areas suffering from a severe shortage of established medical services. Under the agreement, mobile clinics will be equipped with the latest necessary equipment, and essential medicines and medical supplies will be provided. Services will not be limited to treatment alone, but will also include primary healthcare and emergency services, with a particular focus on the safe disposal of medical waste to ensure environmental protection and prevent the spread of disease.
This initiative comes at a time when the health sector in Yemen is facing immense challenges due to the current situation, with many remote areas and displacement camps struggling to access central hospitals. Mobile clinics are of paramount importance in this context, serving as a lifeline for displaced people and host communities in Saada and Hajjah, sparing them the hardship of long journeys and exorbitant treatment costs, thus directly contributing to saving lives and reducing the severity of chronic and infectious diseases.
This project is an extension of the massive relief efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which has consistently provided support to Yemen across various sectors since its inception, most notably health, food, and shelter. The project's continuity and its reaching its seventh phase reflect the success of the Center's strategy in identifying the needs of those affected and providing them with assistance without discrimination, striving to achieve health security and social stability in all Yemeni governorates.
The operation of these clinics is expected to alleviate the pressure on dilapidated government hospitals and raise public health indicators in the targeted areas, especially among the most vulnerable groups such as children, women and the elderly, thus embodying the Kingdom’s noble message of serving humanity and extending a helping hand to those in need in the darkest of circumstances.
