A security disaster in the occupation army
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid accused the government on Thursday of pushing the country toward a security catastrophe due to troop shortages.
In a televised statement, Lapid said the Israeli army was operating at its maximum capacity and beyond, and that the government was leaving it to bleed on the battlefield.
He reiterated a warning issued the previous day by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to the security cabinet: that the government was sending the army into a multi-front war without a strategy, without the necessary resources, and with far too few soldiers.
Lebanon complains to the Security Council
Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morcos announced on Thursday that Lebanon will file a complaint with the UN Security Council against Israeli attacks that included the destruction of bridges and residential buildings, and the demolition of homes, resulting in mass displacement from the south of the country.
Following a cabinet meeting, Morcos said that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam would contact UN Secretary-General António Guterres directly regarding the matter and had instructed Foreign Minister Youssef Raji to immediately submit a complaint to the Security Council.
The government affirmed that the Israeli attacks constitute an extremely serious threat to Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the rights of its citizens.
