The Sultan of Oman receives the Saudi Foreign Minister to discuss regional issues

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, received His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the capital, Muscat, as part of the mutual visits and continuous coordination between the two leaderships to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
Details of the Saudi-Omani talks
During the meeting, the strong bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman were reviewed, along with ways to develop them in various fields to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. The two sides also discussed regional and international developments and the efforts being made to address them, emphasizing the importance of joint action to enhance security and stability in the region in light of current challenges.
The depth of historical relations and strategic partnership
This visit is a continuation of the long history of deep-rooted fraternal relations between Riyadh and Muscat, which have witnessed significant progress in recent years, particularly following the establishment of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council. This council aims to frame joint action and unify visions on critical issues, in addition to enhancing economic integration in line with the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Oman's Vision 2040, both of which seek to diversify income sources and build a sustainable economy.
Political and security coordination in the region
This meeting is of particular importance given the delicate circumstances in the Middle East, where both Saudi Arabia and Oman play pivotal roles within the Gulf Cooperation Council. Oman's balanced foreign policy and Saudi Arabia's proactive diplomacy are key pillars in addressing pressing issues such as the Yemeni crisis and maritime security in the Red Sea, as well as coordinating positions on the Palestinian issue and the aggression against Gaza. This reflects a shared vision regarding the necessity of prioritizing dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
Prospects for economic and investment cooperation
On the economic front, relations are witnessing remarkable growth, particularly following the opening of the direct land route connecting the two countries across the Empty Quarter, which has facilitated trade, transportation, and tourism. Joint committees are currently working to implement several agreements in the fields of energy, petrochemicals, and logistics, further solidifying the two countries' positions as vital hubs for international trade.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Saudi Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Sultan of Oman, and their wishes for the brotherly Omani people for further progress and prosperity.
