The Governor of Riyadh honors benefactors at the Ihsan platform on behalf of the Crown Prince

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, sponsored the fourth annual ceremony honoring philanthropists through the National Platform for Charitable Work (Ihsan) on Friday evening. The ceremony was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, with a high-level attendance including several ministers, senior officials, and a select group of prominent philanthropists and business leaders.

Royal patronage promotes charitable work

This recognition comes as an appreciation from the wise leadership for the contributions of philanthropists and in recognition of their active role in supporting charitable and developmental projects throughout the Kingdom. His Royal Highness the Prince of Riyadh expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for their unwavering support of the non-profit sector, which has contributed to transforming charitable work from a traditional concept to a well-organized, transparent, and highly efficient institutional practice.

This generous support reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment, under Vision 2030, to promoting the values of social solidarity and developing the digital charitable work system. The “Ihsan” platform is a leading national model in which the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) harnessed technology to serve humanity, making it easier and more reliable to deliver donations to those who deserve them.

Launch of the "Buds of Charity" initiative

The ceremony witnessed the launch by His Royal Highness the Prince of Riyadh of the "Buds of Charity" initiative, a strategic step aimed at instilling the values of giving in young people. The initiative allows children to explore areas of charitable work and choose donation opportunities themselves in a simple and interactive way under the supervision of their families, thus contributing to raising a generation aware of its social responsibilities and imbued with a culture of generosity and benevolence from a young age.

Record numbers and a lasting impact

During the ceremony, His Excellency the Chairman of the Platform's Supervisory Committee, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the Ihsan Platform, thanks to God and then to the support of benefactors, was able to make a tangible impact on the lives of more than 1.65 million beneficiaries during the year 2025. He pointed out that 80% of the donations came from members of the community in small amounts, which proves the authenticity of the Saudi community and its love for doing good.

For his part, the Chairman of the Ihsan Endowment Fund Committee, Professor Adeeb Al-Zamil, reviewed the Fund's achievements, explaining that total endowment contributions have exceeded two billion riyals, representing 41% of the Fund's final target of five billion riyals. The Fund aims to achieve financial sustainability for charitable work by investing endowment assets and disbursing the proceeds to support development initiatives and non-profit organizations. The endowment has generated returns exceeding 48 million riyals.
