Financial support for buses and trucks in this country to prevent price increases

Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif announced today that the government is taking, and will continue to take, all possible measures to provide support to citizens during these difficult times.

Sharif made these remarks while chairing a meeting to review progress made in implementing government support packages for petroleum products against the backdrop of recent regional tensions.

The meeting was briefed on the progress made in disbursing subsidies, as well as on the status of fuel reserves and consumption rates in the country.

Instant disbursement

The Prime Minister explained that passenger buses receive a monthly subsidy of 100,000 rupees per bus, while minibuses and vans receive 40,000 rupees per month each, to prevent them from raising prices.

He added that to control the rising prices of basic food commodities, trucks are being given a monthly subsidy of 70,000 rupees, heavy freight vehicles 80,000 rupees, and delivery vehicles 35,000 rupees per month.

He said that to ensure transparency, these amounts are disbursed via digital wallets, and the Prime Minister directed the immediate disbursement of support funds, which has already begun since yesterday.

He added that to control the rising prices of essential food items, trucks are being granted a monthly support of 70,000 rupees, heavy freight vehicles 80,000 rupees, and delivery vehicles 35,000 rupees per month.

He stated that to ensure transparency, these amounts are disbursed through digital wallets, and the Prime Minister directed the immediate disbursement of support funds, which have already started being distributed since yesterday.
