The first Umrah flights of Ramadan 1447 were received at King Abdulaziz Airport

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah welcomed the first flights carrying pilgrims from around the world to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. Specialized staff immediately began processing the pilgrims' entry procedures upon arrival, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and seamless process that reflects the extensive early preparations for this exceptional season.

Full readiness and human and technical preparedness

The General Directorate of Passports had previously announced its readiness to receive pilgrims during the Ramadan Umrah season, through a comprehensive operational plan that included supporting all passport control areas at international ports of entry, most notably King Abdulaziz International Airport, with qualified personnel trained to handle crowds in multiple languages. The facilities were also enhanced with the latest technology to expedite operations and reduce passenger waiting times, ensuring the best possible service for pilgrims from arrival to departure.

The Two Holy Mosques Gateway and Vision Objectives

This event is of particular importance given the strategic location of King Abdulaziz International Airport as the main gateway to the Two Holy Mosques and the busiest point of entry for Umrah pilgrims and Hajj pilgrims. These extensive preparations align with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on the program for serving the guests of God, aiming to increase capacity, facilitate the pilgrim's journey, and enrich their religious and cultural experience, while ensuring their safety and security.

The importance of the Ramadan season

The Ramadan Umrah season is one of the busiest and most popular, with millions of Muslims flocking to the Two Holy Mosques to perform the rituals and observe Itikaf (seclusion for worship). The relevant authorities in the Kingdom, including the Ministry of Interior (represented by the Passport Department), the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and the Airports Authority, work in complete harmony and coordination to ensure the smooth flow of air and ground traffic and to overcome any obstacles that visitors may face, reflecting the Kingdom's exemplary service to Islam and Muslims.

Compliance with regulations and instructions

In closing, the General Directorate of Passports reiterated the importance of pilgrims adhering to the regulations and instructions governing the Umrah season and respecting the validity periods specified in their visas, to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage free from violations. It noted that compliance with these instructions from arrival to departure directly contributes to the success of the organizational plans and the comfort of all those visiting the Holy Mosque.
