Saudi Arabia condemns the statements of the US ambassador to Israel and warns of the consequences

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the remarks made by the US Ambassador to Israel, in which he appeared to accept the idea of Israeli control over the region, implicitly legitimizing the occupation and expanding its influence. The Kingdom considered these remarks a dangerous bias and a disregard for established historical and legal facts.

A firm rejection and unwavering stance

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia categorically rejected these statements, describing them as irresponsible and emphasizing that they constitute a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, as well as contravening established diplomatic norms. The Ministry explained that such pronouncements by a US official represent a dangerous precedent, reflecting a disregard for the strategic and distinguished relations that bind the countries of the region to the United States, and casting doubt on the US role as an impartial mediator in the peace process.

Serious repercussions for regional and international security

In further analyzing the situation, the Kingdom warned that adopting this extremist approach portends dire consequences that will not be confined to the region alone, but will extend to threaten global peace and security. Such statements contribute to fueling animosity and alienating the peoples of the region, and they undermine the foundations of the international order agreed upon by the nations of the world to end wars and bloody conflicts. This international order is based on the principles of respect for geographical borders and the sovereignty of states, principles which these statements seek to erode.

Adherence to the peace frameworks and the two-state solution

Politically and historically, the Kingdom reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that a just and comprehensive peace can only be achieved through adherence to international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. It stressed that the only way to end the conflict is to end the Israeli occupation of all occupied Arab territories and reach a two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

A call to clarify the American position

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded its statement by demanding that the US administration, and specifically the State Department, clarify its official position on these statements, which have been widely rejected by peace-loving nations. The Kingdom affirmed that any infringement upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states is a red line that cannot be crossed, and that stability in the Middle East requires serious efforts to promote international justice, not to legitimize occupation.
