The Saudi Crown Prince receives a message from the Prime Minister of Bangladesh
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a written message from Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The message focused on the strong and deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to support and enhance them in various areas of common interest.
The message was delivered on behalf of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, during his meeting at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom, Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwary. During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the close bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Bangladesh was conducted, in addition to an exchange of views on regional and international issues, reflecting the depth of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries.
Historical background and depth of relations
Saudi-Bangladeshi relations are based on solid historical foundations and a shared legacy of deep religious and cultural ties that stretch back decades. Since the establishment of formal diplomatic relations, this partnership has witnessed remarkable development, with Saudi Arabia considered a key strategic partner for Bangladesh. The Kingdom hosts a large Bangladeshi community, one of the largest expatriate communities in the world, whose remittances contribute significantly to the Bangladeshi economy, while they play a vital role in supporting the Saudi labor market and participating in major development projects.
Strategic importance and expected impact
This high-level diplomatic exchange comes at a time when both countries are seeking to expand economic and investment cooperation. The Kingdom’s Vision 2030 aligns with Bangladesh’s ambitious development goals, opening the door to promising Saudi investments in vital sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, technology, and food security. Strategically, this exchange is of paramount importance given current global challenges, as both countries, as active members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), work to strengthen Islamic solidarity and address issues of concern to the Muslim world. Such exchanges underscore the mutual commitment to advancing relations towards a comprehensive strategic partnership that serves the interests of both nations and contributes to regional and international security and stability.
