More than 90 wildlife births at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve in the first quarter of 2026

During the first quarter of 2026, the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority recorded more than 90 births of a number of wild species, in a scene that reflects the vitality of the ecosystem within the reserve’s boundaries, and embodies the effectiveness of the reintroduction programs, in addition to the integration of protection efforts and management of natural habitats, which directly reflects on the reproduction of wild organisms and their stability in their natural environment.

Wildlife forms in the reserve

The Authority documented over 40 births of Arabian gazelles, more than 15 births of Arabian oryx, over 17 births of Arabian hares, and the hatching of 7 red-necked ostriches, in addition to more than 12 births of rock hyraxes. This clearly indicates the expansion of the breeding range for various wildlife species within the reserve.
Recording this level of reproduction in the environment represents a qualitative shift in the results of breeding programs, as wildlife species transition from reliance on breeding programs and incubators to natural reproduction within their natural habitat. This reflects their environmental readiness and the completion of the necessary conditions for their stability.
The achievement of these results confirms the transition of wildlife within the reserve to the stage of natural reproduction after its reintroduction, reflecting its stability and continuity.
These results confirm the rapid development of wildlife activity in the reserve, and the success of the integrated approach implemented by the Authority in rehabilitating natural habitats, raising the efficiency of protection, and developing wildlife species, which enhances its sustainability and keeps pace with the objectives of the National Environment Strategy and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
