King Salman Relief Center aid in Yemen, Lebanon and Afghanistan

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continues to reaffirm its leading role in global humanitarian work by providing a package of urgent relief aid targeting the most vulnerable groups in Yemen, Lebanon, and Afghanistan. These efforts are part of the Kingdom's ongoing strategy to extend a helping hand to those affected by crises and disasters around the world and to alleviate the suffering of brotherly and friendly nations.
A lifeline in Hodeidah, Yemen
As part of its deep concern for the humanitarian situation in Yemen, the Center continued implementing its water supply and environmental sanitation project in Al-Khawkhah District, Al-Hudaydah Governorate. This vital project aims to combat diseases and epidemics caused by water contamination in IDP camps. During the period from November 26 to December 2, 2025, the project achieved record water pumping rates, providing:
- 1,147,000 liters of water suitable for domestic use.
- 247,000 liters of potable water.
The project also included 69 dedicated waste removal trips from IDP camps and regular water quality tests to ensure its safety, benefiting 16,170 individuals . This support is a cornerstone for the stability of displaced families in Yemen's western coast, which suffers from a severe water shortage.
Supporting food security in Lebanon
In a related context, the center intensified its efforts in Lebanon to address the economic and living challenges facing both refugees and the host community. The center distributed 464 food baskets and 464 cartons of dates in Baalbek, targeting 2,320 Syrian refugees and the most vulnerable members of Lebanese society.
This aid comes as part of the 2025 food aid and date distribution project, at a time when Lebanon is experiencing delicate economic conditions that require concerted international efforts to support vulnerable groups and provide them with food security.
Relief for returnees in Afghanistan
On the Asian front, Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts extended to Afghanistan, where the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 520 food baskets in the districts of Hisarak and Bajir Aw Agam in Nangarhar province. This aid was specifically allocated to support 520 families returning from Pakistan to their homes, as part of the Food Security and Emergency Project for the years 2025-2026.
This aid is of utmost importance in light of the transitional circumstances that returnees are going through, as it contributes to providing their basic needs and facilitating their reintegration into their original communities, reflecting the comprehensive humanitarian vision of the Kingdom, which does not differentiate between race or color in providing assistance.
