Well-deserved qualification and second place in the overall standings

Al-Qadisiyah's achievement wasn't limited to individual medals; the overall results of the tournament saw both the youth and senior teams officially qualify for the Saudi Taekwondo Super Cup, the most prestigious tournament that brings together the Kingdom's elite clubs. Furthermore, Al-Qadisiyah's senior team secured second place overall, a testament to the cumulative work and administrative and technical efforts within the club.

Commenting on this achievement, the director of the Al-Qadisiyah Taekwondo team, Hassan Al-Faqih, confirmed that what was achieved is the result of great efforts and intensive training that the players undertook under the supervision of the technical and administrative staff, noting that the high fighting spirit and the players’ commitment to the instructions were the main key to appearing in this honorable manner in the championship.

The context of the championship and the importance of Taekwondo in the Kingdom

The Kingdom's qualifying championship holds paramount importance on the Saudi Taekwondo Federation's calendar, serving as the primary gateway to elite tournaments. Holding the championship in Taif is part of the Federation's strategy to diversify its venues and leverage the advanced sports facilities across the Kingdom, in addition to the favorable conditions Taif offers athletes.

The sports sector, particularly martial arts such as taekwondo, has witnessed a qualitative leap in Saudi Arabia in recent years, in line with the goals of Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on developing sports and increasing the number of practitioners and competitors for regional and international titles. Al-Qadisiyah Club, based in the Eastern Province, is a key pillar in supporting national teams with young talent across various individual and team sports.

This qualification for the Super Cup puts Al-Qadisiyah in front of a new challenge to compete for the title of Champion of Champions, and enhances the club’s status as a comprehensive sports fortress that does not rely only on football, but competes strongly in various Olympic sports.
